Церковь Святителя Николая Чудотворца in Barrie began in 2018 as a small gathering of faithful Christians and became an official mission parish of the Orthodox Church in America in 2019.
The community met for years at a warehouse space before purchasing its permanent home, moving into 7 Burton Avenue in July 2025 - a building that served as an Irish Protestant Loyal Orange Lodge from 1870 to 1913 before its new life as an Orthodox church.
Divine Liturgy is celebrated in Russian and English, according to the old-style (Julian) calendar. As a mission parish within the Archdiocese of Canada's Ontario Deanery, the community is served by visiting clergy.
All are welcome to join in prayer, whatever your background or how long you've been away from church.
