Russian Orthodox Church of Christ the Saviour

Russian Orthodox Parish in London Since 1950

A small group of Orthodox young people founded this parish in 1950, and the present church was consecrated in October 1962. Since then people have prayed here according to the church typikon and stayed after the service for tea. Services are celebrated in Church Slavonic and once a month in English, so longtime parishioners and those just getting to know Orthodoxy both feel at home.

The Christ the Saviour parish is a direct descendant of the first Orthodox community in this area. It belongs to the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, Diocese of Montreal and Canada, and its present church, consecrated in 1962 by Archbishop Vitaly, the future First Hierarch of the Church Abroad, is familiar to several generations of believers. The church stands in the south of the city and is well known to the neighbourhood.

Come to the services:
- Sundays and feast days, 9:30 am: the Divine Liturgy
- Saturdays and the eve of feasts, 7 pm: the All Night Vigil
- Once a month the service is celebrated in English
- Every Sunday after the service, tea and coffee in the church hall, a chance to get to know one another

Services and sermons can be watched and heard online on the parish YouTube channels, and the schedule for the current month is posted on the website. Come and meet the community, you will always be welcome here.
