Potomac Russian Academy

Preschool, after-school, summer camp and children theater

In Potomac, children from three months old find a cozy preschool: a homemade lunch of fresh organic food, Russian and English from scratch, drawing and modeling. School-age kids from five to twelve are picked up by the academy minibus, fed lunch and kept busy with Russian, math and yoga while parents are at work.

One academy, and a program for every age. Come in and choose:
- Saturday school for children five to eight: Russian language, speech development, reading, the world around us, math and a theater studio, plus a full homemade lunch
- After-school for ages five to twelve with preparation for the Math Kangaroo olympiad, drawing, and dance and theater studios
- The Colorful Summer camp for ages five to ten: lessons with teachers, reading, crafts, music, painting, and trips to a pool, Sandy Point State Park, the National Gallery of Art, Greenbrier State Park and the zoo
- The Impulse Dance studio for ages four to twelve: jazz, modern, rhythm, improvisation, stretching and acrobatics

The Teremok theater has been performing since 2009, and its first show, the fairy tale Teremok, gave the theater its name. Teachers with degrees in theater and dance lead four age groups, from three to eighteen: acting, stage speech, vocals and movement. Every season ends with a report concert, and the children appear on stage in musical fairy tales and New Year plays and take part in international festivals of Russian-speaking children theaters, where the company has won awards for best comedy and best musical staging.

Call or write, and you will be helped to find the right group for your child.
