Russian School Erudite
Saturday Russian school in Kensington: from first words to the NEWL exam
One school for the whole path of a child: from first words at eighteen months to the NEWL exam in the upper grades. Four consecutive steps by age, Russian language, literature, history and culture, and after lessons, clubs and theater studios. Saturday at Erudite becomes a day children look forward to: they learn, play, have lunch together and make friends.
The school steps:
- Early development for children from eighteen months to three: first words, songs and games together with mom
- Kindergarten and school readiness, ages three to six: fairy tales, letters and first syllable reading
- Primary school, ages seven to ten: writing, reading, speaking and a first look at history
- Middle school, ages eleven to sixteen: advanced language, literature, history and culture
High schoolers can prepare for the NEWL Russian exam: the result counts toward university admission and as a foreign language credit in county schools. For children who do not speak Russian or are just starting, there is Russian as a foreign language: separate groups and a separate method, with no comparison to native speakers. Kazakh language courses are also offered for children and adults.
After lessons, discover the clubs:
- Math, intellectual games and chess
- Scratch programming, LEGO robotics and a film studio
- The Karusel theater studio, puppet theater and the Melodiya musical theater
- Dance, drawing, watercolor and crafts
- Fun geography, fun Russian and a book club
A parent course called Focus runs for the families. Sign up for a trial lesson, and you will be helped to choose the right step by age and language level.
