Tarasov Alexey
Civil Rights and Complex Litigation Attorney
I immigrated from Russia to Oklahoma as a teenager, and that background still shapes how I practice law today - I am licensed in Texas, Oklahoma, and New York, admitted to argue before the U.S. Supreme Court, and I still handle notary work and international family law for Russian-speaking clients alongside complex federal litigation. My work has included proving that the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority violated the states Open Meeting Act, a ruling that halted a controversial five-billion-dollar highway project the agency tried to push through without proper public input.
Other cases have taken me to the Oklahoma Supreme Court, where I represented parents challenging a school district's COVID-era quarantine policy and won a ruling that the policy violated state law and students' rights. I currently represent inmates in a federal lawsuit over conditions at an Oklahoma correctional facility, part of a broader practice in civil rights and government accountability work. The Guild of Russian Lawyers has recognized my work with an award, and I am admitted before seven federal circuit courts of appeal in addition to Texas, Oklahoma, and New York state courts.
I take on:
- Notarial services and document certification in Russian
- International family law
- Federal and state civil litigation
- Criminal defense
- Business disputes and civil rights matters
