Holy Theotokos of Iveron Orthodox Church

Russian Orthodox Church (ROCOR) in Kailua

Holy Theotokos of Iveron Orthodox Church is a Russian Orthodox parish (ROCOR) in Kailua, Hawaii, serving the community since 1984. The parish is known throughout the Orthodox world as the home of the myrrh-streaming Hawaiian Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, officially recognized as miraculous by the Russian Orthodox Church. Services are conducted primarily in English, with elements of Church Slavonic, Hawaiian, Romanian, and Greek, reflecting a genuinely multi-ethnic parish family.

Since 2008, the wonderworking Hawaiian myrrh-streaming Iveron Icon of the Mother of God - which first began streaming myrrh in a parishioner's home - has traveled to more than a thousand churches across North America, Europe, and beyond, drawing millions of pilgrims, including over a million who came to venerate it during its 2014 visit to the Republic of Georgia. Its companion myrrh-streaming Cross remains permanently at the Hawaii parish, available for veneration to every parishioner and visitor.

The parish maintains a full liturgical life: Great Vespers and confession on Saturdays, Hours and Divine Liturgy on Sundays, and an Akathist service on Wednesdays. The parish also runs a Sunday parish school and a sisterhood.

The church doors are open to anyone seeking a community of prayer and a living encounter with the Orthodox faith in the Hawaiian Islands.
