Russian School of Mathematics - RSM Redmond
After-School Math Enrichment for Grades K-12
RSM Redmond keeps class sizes small on purpose - an average of twelve students split across three levels per grade - so every child is taught at the pace that actually challenges them. Set in a growing tech corridor where parents take math seriously, the Redmond campus offers one continuous curriculum from kindergarten through 12th grade, built on a methodology perfected since 1997.
Redmond families have five program levels to choose from, from Elementary K-2 through the invitation-only Competition program, all built on one continuous K-12 curriculum rather than a patchwork of grade-level worksheets. Many families come in through the Math Competition Prep (MCP) track offered at the Redmond campus, which trains students for competitions like AMC8 and the Harvard-MIT Math Tournament, where RSM teams have placed as high as 6th out of 150 schools nationally, and roughly one in four RSM students who sit the AMC8 score in the top 5 percent.
Classes run 1.5 to 4 hours a week depending on grade, taught by instructors with backgrounds in mathematics or a related field, and homework is kept deliberately light - just enough to reinforce what was covered in class, not to become a second set of assignments on top of regular schoolwork. More than 250,000 RSM alumni have gone on to top universities, a track record built on the same core methodology, drawn from elite math schools of the former Soviet Union, since 1997.
Programs at RSM Redmond include:
- Elementary math enrichment for grades K-2 and 3-5
- Middle school and high school math enrichment
- Math Competition Prep (MCP) for AMC, MATHCOUNTS, and similar competitions
- One continuous curriculum from kindergarten through 12th grade
