Okinawa Karate Dojo
Shotokan Karate for Kids and Adults, Camps, Competition
True Shotokan karate for children from age four and for adults in southeast Denver: students learn discipline, confidence, and friendship, not just how to fight. The first class is free, and there are no long-term contracts.
Classes for every age and level:
- Pre-Karate for kids ages 4 to 6
- Kids ages 7 to 13: beginner, intermediate, and advanced groups
- Teens and adults age 14 and up
- Black belt group
- Competition team training
- Private lessons
The program is built on basics (kihon), forms (kata), and sparring (kumite), blending Japanese tradition with a modern competitive approach. Classes help kids become more focused, attentive, and confident, learn respect and self-control, and make friends. Children also learn the basics of anti-bullying awareness.
The school life goes beyond the training floor: the Gasshuku summer camp, the Ski and Gi winter camp, karate birthday parties, Sunday movie nights, holiday parties, outdoor adventures, and tournaments from local to international level. Many students come from Aurora and other parts of the metro area.
