Leaving the hospital or a rehab center is exactly when a professional should be at your side. Since 2005, Veritas Home Health has sent nurses and rehabilitation specialists to patients homes in Plano, Dallas, and across Collin County: skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and household help for older adults.

Skilled nursing at home covers what the doctor orders: wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and monitoring of the patient's condition. Physical therapists work with people recovering from hip or knee replacement, teach safe walking and balance, and help with back and joint pain, with home programs built around a safer and more active lifestyle.

For daily tasks there is household help: personal care, cooking and shopping, cleaning and laundry, and escorts to the doctor. This help is typically covered under Medicaid.
