Balanchine-Based Ballet Training
Ballet Chicago has trained dancers in downtown Chicago since 1987, offering classical ballet instruction from age 3 through the pre-professional level. Through a special arrangement with the George Balanchine Trust, students in the schools Studio Company take part in the Balanchine Repertory Project, learning and performing the choreographers actual works, a rare opportunity outside major ballet companies. The organization has staged more than 1,000 performances across Chicago, the Midwest, and Canada, with annual seasons at the Athenaeum Center and the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, reaching roughly 10,000 people each year.

The school is recognized as a premier Balanchine-based training program in the Midwest, with students given access to the Balanchine Repertory Project through the schools arrangement with the George Balanchine Trust.
