IRCO Slavic and Eastern European Center
Family Support, Youth Programs, and Slavic Community
The IRCO Slavic and Eastern European Center is a community hub in Portland for people from Eastern European countries and anyone looking for their community here. An advisory council of community leaders guides the center, and a multilingual team that understands what a newly arrived family faces can point you to the right help. The center is part of IRCO, an organization that has helped immigrants and refugees settle and thrive in Oregon since 1976.
The center is a place to get help and simply to feel among your own. An annual celebration of Slavic and Eastern European heritage brings the community together, and volunteers are welcome in the programs run from the center.
Through the center and IRCO you can reach:
- A youth program for children and teens ages 6 and up, with mentorship and academic support
- Help enrolling in health insurance and navigating the health care system
- Legal information on family and immigration law
- Case management and peer support for families
- Senior services, including transportation, citizenship classes, and health workshops
- Interpretation and translation in more than 100 languages through the International Language Bank
- Employment help and job training
Call or email the center to find out which program fits your situation.
