Russian-Speaking Women Health Care in San Francisco
I am a Nurse Practitioner specializing in women's health, and in 1993 I opened San Francisco's first clinic with native Russian-speaking providers. I offer gynecological exams, diagnosis, and treatment, and provide guidance on women's health at every stage of life. Appointments are held on Saturdays.
I was born and received my first medical training in Riga, Latvia, and continued my studies at San Jose State University after moving to the Bay Area. I spent ten years in frontline HIV research at UCSF, and I hold a clinical doctorate in human sexuality.
On weekdays, I see patients at the free City Clinic through the San Francisco Department of Public Health, and on Saturdays I see patients at my own private women's health clinic, which I founded in 1993 - the first in the city with native Russian-speaking providers. In 2002, the City of San Francisco recognized my contribution to community health with a day named in my honor.
