New Martyrs of Russia Orthodox Church
The First Church Dedicated to the Holy New Martyrs of Russia
New Martyrs of Russia Orthodox Church is a parish of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in Mulino, Oregon, and the first church in the world consecrated in honor of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia. The church building was constructed by parishioners themselves in 1982.
The idea to dedicate the church to the memory of the New Martyrs came from a family whose own relative was among those canonized as a saint, and the earliest services here were conducted by monks from Northern California, including the well known Orthodox missionary Hieromonk Seraphim Rose. We hold:
- Saturday Vigil
- Sunday Divine Liturgy
- Services for the parish feast day and other church celebrations
- Sacraments and rites by arrangement with the priest
The parish has a fellowship hall built in 1984 for gatherings and celebrations, along with a recently added children's playground and expanded parking.
