Russian Community Centre of Vancouver

Russian Cultural Hub Since 1956

He Russian Community Centre of Vancouver has united people interested in Russian culture since 1956, operating out of the historic former Kitsilano Theatre in the heart of Kitsilano. The Centre is home to the Russian Balalaika Orchestra, the Yablochko Russian Dance Ensemble, and the Pushkin Saturday Childrens Language School, and also offers affordable hall rental with stage access for community and private events.

For nearly seventy years, the Russian Community Centre has been the heart of Russian cultural life in Vancouver, housed in a genuinely historic building: the former Kitsilano Theatre, built in 1913 and acquired by the Centre's founding members in 1958 through community donations and volunteer labour.

What you'll find here:
- The Russian Balalaika Orchestra, welcoming new members with instruments and instruction provided
- The Yablochko Russian Dance Ensemble, performing across the Lower Mainland
- The Pushkin Saturday Children's Language School, teaching Russian language and culture to kids
- The Palme Theatre Group
- An annual Christmas Bazaar
- Affordable hall rental with stage access for events of all kinds

The Centre is even recognized by the Province of British Columbia as an approved provider of external credentials toward high school graduation. Whether you're looking to join an ensemble, enroll your child in Russian school, or simply rent a space for your next event, this is where Vancouver's Russian-speaking community has gathered for generations.
