Hurwitz Holt has practiced immigration law in San Diego County since 1980, handling family-based visa petitions, asylum and victim-based cases, and deportation defense for permanent and non-permanent residents. The firm has helped clients immigrate to the United States from dozens of countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, and other Eastern European and former Soviet countries, and now serves clients from offices in San Diego and Carlsbad.

Case types handled include family-based petitions to bring relatives to the United States, asylum applications for those fleeing persecution, victim-based petitions for survivors of abuse or crime, and defense against deportation proceedings for clients already in the country.

Both offices see clients by appointment only, with staff fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and French in addition to English. The firm takes on cases other attorneys have turned away as too difficult, walking clients through each step rather than promising an easy outcome upfront.
