Adult Day Care and Respite Services, Medicaid Accepted

Alpine Adult Day Care runs a bright, open-concept center in Aurora built around real meals cooked from scratch in its own licensed kitchen, daily transportation, and a program built for adults living with Alzheimer disease, Parkinson disease, stroke, brain injury, or a developmental disability. The center is Medicaid certified, so care is free for qualifying Medicaid clients, and a free trial day lets families see the program firsthand before enrolling.

Alpine holds a Program Approved Service Agency (PASA) designation from the State of Colorado for clients with developmental and intellectual disabilities, and is Brain Injury certified by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, with staff specifically trained to care for traumatic brain injury. A registered nurse and CNA are on-site, physician consultations are available, and the building is video monitored throughout the day.

Every day includes exercise, stretching, and walking groups alongside cognitive skills activities, games, and entertainment, with large-screen TVs, a billiard room, and computers available for clients who would rather relax. Weekly and biweekly outings take clients to the Denver Botanic Gardens, local museums, the Denver Zoo, and area hot springs, while local day trips cover grocery runs, malls, and parks when weather allows. Every client gets a monthly birthday celebration complete with live music, cake, and small gifts.

Alpine also takes part in a Special Respite Program for family caregivers: anyone providing more than 40 hours a week of unpaid care for a family member, friend, or neighbor with a special need can apply for a voucher that covers adult day services at Alpine, as an approved provider.
