Blood pressure is jumping, blood sugar will not stay steady, and the right specialist is still a long way off: that is usually where the conversation at my office begins. I care for adult patients as an internist in the Temple Health Community Network: from an annual check-up to managing chronic conditions and referring to specialists when they are needed.

A good internist is needed not only when something hurts. Once a year I do a full check-up, review your lab results, blood pressure, weight and vaccinations and explain what in your numbers matters and what does not. If a problem turns up, we make a plan together: what to treat now, what to watch and when to check again.

For those living with chronic conditions, I follow up regularly, adjust treatment and make sure that the conclusions of different doctors do not contradict one another.
