Russian Orthodox Church Abroad Parish in Cambridge

The parish of St. Tikhon and the New Martyrs of Russia grew from occasional services and talks in rented rooms into a living community with a church of its own. Prayer in Church Slavonic is heard here, children study on Saturdays, and after the Liturgy everyone is invited to a shared meal, so each person feels part of one big family in Christ.

The parish, formed in 2003 with the blessing of the Archbishop of Montreal and Canada, brings together Orthodox people from many countries: Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Baltics, Moldova, and others. Its aim is simple: to become one family, united by faith in the Lord and helping one another.

Come to the services:
- Saturday: All Night Vigil in Church Slavonic
- Sunday: the Divine Liturgy, followed by a shared meal in the parish hall
- On the twelve great feasts and other major feasts: special services
- In November, on the weekend near the memory of St. Tikhon: the patronal feast of the church

On Saturdays the church runs a parish school for children aged five to fifteen. Lessons include the Law of God, Russian language, literature, history, math, and even computer science, and students of the school have won Canadian and international Russian language contests. The church also has an Orthodox youth club, faith talks, and a sisterhood that prepares meals after the Liturgy and bakes hand pies and Easter breads for the feasts. Particles of holy relics are kept in the church, and wonderworking icons often visit the parish.
