Then you won't want to miss the chance to do exactly that at our new, state-of-the-art swim school with an athletic design, which opened in early January right in the heart of one of the largest hubs of Canada's Russian-speaking community, at the intersection of Rutherford and Keele. In opening our school, our hope is to help as many people as possible, of every age, from the very youngest to high schoolers, enjoy Canada's beautiful rivers and lakes, feel confident at any beach resort, and keep themselves in shape year-round with genuine pleasure in the pool. After all, swimming is one of the most well-rounded, beneficial, and accessible sports around, suited to the widest possible audience.

How will the new swim school operate? What will surprise and delight its visitors?

Since opening our doors on January 6, 2019, we've already registered more than 100 children ranging from 4 months to 15 years old, and anyone interested is welcome to come see our school and take a free trial class.

The new pool is L-shaped, measuring 18 metres in length and 14 metres in width. The water is kept at 32°C. We pay special attention to water quality - we don't use chlorine, and instead maintain the required level of cleanliness using sea salt. The high water and air temperature, combined with the highest standard of water quality, will help you avoid the common skin and ear issues associated with pools. We maintain this water temperature year-round. At the same time, the air right around the pool is kept at 28 degrees, so there's no sharp temperature drop for anyone stepping out of the water. And for the parents and spectators who can watch classes from a dedicated viewing gallery behind a glass partition, we've made sure they're comfortable too: that area is kept at a pleasant 24 degrees.

For those who'd rather keep an eye on their children from the lobby, we've installed large screens showing the pool from several different angles, so you can keep watching your child's progress at any time.

This new aquatics complex wasn't designed purely as a training ground for future champions - it was designed as a place for recreation and enjoyment. This is an exclusive pool with upscale changing rooms, beautifully maintained saltwater quality thanks to the most modern equipment available, consistent humidity levels, elimination of unwanted odours, and so on.

Everyone gets their own private changing stall. The washrooms are kept spotlessly clean. There's a comfortable waiting area for parents with young children.

Our teaching groups have no more than 3 people each, and each group has its own dedicated instructor. Compare that to a typical city pool, where a popular coach usually has 30 to 35 people swimming at once across 3 or 4 lanes. Sessions run anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the student's age and ability. Classes run from 4:30 to 8:30pm on weekdays, and from 10:30am to 2:30pm on weekends.

All of our instructors are certified professionals, and most of them have years of experience behind them. Our school's core teaching approach is based on the Red Cross methodology, which covers 10 levels of swimmer development. Our top priority, without question, is your child's safety in the water, and to that end, we keep the atmosphere in our sessions genuinely supportive, but first and foremost focused on getting real work done. At the new pool, we teach people of every age to swim, starting from 6 months old, and for our youngest students, we make extensive use of special toys and games.

Our preschool level, where the main goal is learning to stay afloat in the water, runs up to age 5; past age 5 is our school-age level, meaning fairly intensive instruction in actual swimming technique. To keep our sessions as effective as possible, we group children by both age and physical ability.

The pool is conveniently located directly across from Rutherford GO Station, easy to reach whether you drive or take public transit.
